Do not order a transcript for non-attendance verification.
Support
If you have requested an official transcript to be sent to another institution and later discover an issue (such as delivery problems, incorrect information, or missing records), do not submit a new transcript request.
Instead, contact Admissions & Records at admissions@barstow.edu for assistance. Prompt communication allows staff to investigate and resolve the issue quickly and helps prevent unnecessary duplicate orders or delays with your receiving institution.

Official Transcript Evaluation
Students who have completed coursework at another college or university must submit official transcripts to Admissions & Records for evaluation.
Transfer coursework cannot be applied toward a Barstow Community College degree, certificate, prerequisite, or educational plan until official transcripts have been received and evaluated.
When to Submit Transcripts
Submit transcripts as early as possible if you:
- Completed courses at another institution
- Plan to use transfer coursework toward a degree or certificate
- Need coursework reviewed for prerequisites
- Are preparing to petition for graduation
- Want transfer coursework included in your education plan
Delays in submitting transcripts may impact your ability to register, meet prerequisites, or graduate on time.
Evaluation Process
California Community Colleges, AP, DANTES, or CLEP
Evaluations are typically completed within 2–4 weeks after receipt. You will be notified when complete and advised to meet with a counselor to review your records.
Accredited Colleges (Outside California Community Colleges)
Begin by meeting with a counselor. After your appointment, it may take 4–6 weeks for credit to be applied to your record.
Foreign Transcripts
Students must use an external evaluation service to translate and evaluate coursework according to U.S. standards. Barstow Community College recommends agencies affiliated with National Association of Credential Evaluation Services.
Once received, schedule a counseling appointment. Evaluations are typically completed within 6–8 weeks.
Joint Service Transcripts (JST)
JST evaluations are reviewed during a counseling appointment. Up to 30 units of military credit may be awarded. Credit is typically posted within 3 weeks of the appointment.
Important Note
Evaluation timeframes may vary during peak periods or times of high volume in Admissions & Records. Students are strongly encouraged to submit transcripts early, especially if planning to petition for graduation.
