Dear Class of 2023,
Congratulations 63rd graduating class!
On behalf of Barstow Community College faculty, classified professionals, and administrators, I want to say “YOU DID IT!” You have achieved a milestone in your educational career and life, despite a global pandemic. Some of you may be the first in your family to earn a college degree or certificate. Many of you will transfer and continue your educational journey, while others will go immediately into the workforce as a skilled and trained professional. Whatever your path, don’t miss the enjoyment in your experience as you apply what you have learned here, to better the world around you.
During your time with us, WE have learned that YOU are smart, resilient, resourceful, thought-provoking, and courageous. You are ambitious, caring, inclusive, and not at all afraid to be who you are. You have hopes and have found inspiration in learning and connecting. As you continue to pursue your dreams with relentless optimism, we will continue to cheer you on. Because of you, we believe our future is bright.
As we transition to a modified commencement ceremony this year and cheer you on as you walk across the stage to receive your award, remember to thank your family, friends, classmates, and mentors who got you to this point. Be as proud of where you came from, as where you are going. As you reach towards your future, don’t forget to give back. Make sure you join the BCC Alumni Association and stay connected.
Go onward and upward to represent us proudly, and always remember...
Once a Viking...Always a Viking!
