If the class you want is full, joining a waitlist may give you another opportunity to enroll. Waitlists allow eligible students to reserve a place in line for a full class and receive notification if a seat becomes available.
Understanding how the waitlist process works can help you avoid missing an opportunity to register.
What You Need to Know
- Waitlists are available on eligible classes only.
- Waitlists remain open until they reach capacity or close prior to the start of the class.
- If a seat becomes available, eligible students are automatically registered for the class.
- Registration notifications are sent to your my.barstow.edu email address.
- Be sure to monitor your student email regularly for important registration updates.
- Being on a waitlist does not guarantee enrollment in a class.
Waitlist Resources
Join a Waitlist
If a class has an available waitlist, you may add yourself through the MyBCC Portal during your registration appointment.
Automatic Registration
When a seat becomes available, eligible students are automatically registered for the class.
A confirmation email will be sent to your my.barstow.edu email account notifying you that you have been enrolled.
Because registration occurs automatically, it is important to monitor your student email and review your class schedule in MyBCC to confirm your enrollment.
After Classes Begin
If the waitlist has ended and seats become available after classes begin, instructors may issue add authorization codes at their discretion.
For in-person classes, attend the first class meeting.
For online classes, contact the instructor on or before the first day of class.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does joining a waitlist guarantee I will get into the class?
No. Joining a waitlist does not guarantee enrollment. Students are automatically registered only if a seat becomes available while the waitlist is active.
How will I know if I was enrolled from the waitlist?
If you are automatically enrolled, a confirmation email will be sent to your my.barstow.edu email account. You should also review your class schedule in the MyBCC Portal to verify your enrollment.
Do I need to register myself after receiving a waitlist notification?
No. Eligible students are automatically registered when a seat becomes available. The email notification serves as confirmation that you have been enrolled in the class.
What if the waitlist closes before I get a seat?
Once the waitlist closes, students may attend the first class meeting (or contact the instructor for online classes). If seats become available, instructors may issue add authorization codes at their discretion.
