Refund Policy
Students who drop a class by the published refund deadline are eligible for a 100% refund of enrollment fees and nonresident tuition. Refunds are processed automatically—no additional request is required.
Refunds are typically issued within four to six weeks after an eligible drop is processed.
If Barstow Community College cancels a class, any applicable enrollment fees and nonresident tuition will be refunded automatically.
Because refund deadlines vary by class, students should review the Academic Calendar to determine the applicable refund deadlines. Depending on the class, refund deadlines may occur as early as the first or second day of instruction.
Active-duty and reserve members of the U.S. Armed Forces who receive Permanent Change of Station (PCS) or Temporary Duty (TDY) orders may be eligible for a refund of enrollment fees. To request a refund, students must submit a Petition for Excused Withdrawal along with a copy of their official military orders. Refunds cannot be issued once a final grade has been awarded.
Payment Procedures
Enrollment fees and other applicable fees are due at the beginning of each semester. Once the semester begins, a registration hold will be placed on all student accounts with an outstanding balance.
