The California Community Colleges CalWORKs Program is a state-funded program that assists current Cash Aid recipients in achieving long-term self-sufficiency through the attainment of higher education. At Barstow Community College, the CalWORKs Program aims to assist you with educational and career planning, as well as serving as a liaison to the county.
Services: Academic counseling, work-study opportunities, assistance meeting the 32/35 weekly hour requirement, career workshops, transportation assistance, food assistance, and school supplies.
Eligibility: Students must be a California resident, must receive CalWORKs cash aid for themselves, and be registered in 6 units or more.
Application Process: Students must complete the CalWORKs application and bring in a Memo to Service Provider or Welfare to Work Form with proof of cash aid from their county worker.
To apply for CalWORKs, please complete the Special Programs & Services Application, SPS Mutual Responsibility Contract, CalWORKs Contractual Agreement, and CalWORKs Release of Information.
