CHECK OUT
Print books that are not reserve items may be checked out for two weeks at a time. The date written on the oarnge card and the pocket is the due date for the item checked out and you may not receive another notice of due date. Checked out items may be renewed until the end of the semester, at which point all items are due.
OVERDUE AND LOST BOOKS
If a book is more than four weeks overdue, it will be marked as Lost. A student who has a Lost item must a) return the item or b) replace it with the same book in new condition. Failure to do this will result in a loss of library privileges. Library personnel will conduct a search for the book(s) before removing a student's privileges.
REPEAT VIOLATIONS OF LIBRARY RULES
Students violating the library's policy on food items, noise levels, and other conduct may be asked to leave. Repeated incidents will result in a loss of library privileges. (Do we need to explain what library privileges means or is it clear?)
STUDY ROOMS
Study rooms are intended for group study. They may be checked out for 2 hours at a time per group. Each member of the group must sign in. The food policy applies to the study rooms. Students who leave a study room for more than 15 minutes during a check-out period will be considered to have ended their check-out and any items left in the room will be taken to Lost and Found. Students may not move whiteboards or other furniture to block a clear view into the study room. If a study room key is not returned within 2 hours after the check-out period ends, it will be considered a lost item, and the student may lose library privileges.
