Food Pantry

We learn as whole people. To learn effectively you must have basic security: a roof over your head, a safe place to sleep, enough food to eat. If you need assistance with any of these areas, Barstow Community College has staff dedicated to addressing your basic needs.

Food Pantry

Barstow Community College is committed to fighting hunger and food insecurity on campus. According to John Burton’s Advocates for Youth, 2 in 3 students report experiencing food insecurity, where they are unable to provide enough food for each household member to live an active and healthy life.

Special Programs and Services has opened up a Food Pantry for all students in order to address this need for our students. The Food Pantry provides students with a variety of fresh, frozen, and non-perishable food items on a daily basis. In addition, the Food Pantry provides fresh fruits and vegetables at our monthly Produce Market.

Students can receive Food Pantry services by coming to Special Programs and Services (located in the K Building at the center of campus) to receive breakfast and lunch items daily as well as non perishable pantry items once per week. In addition, students can visit our weekly Produce Market on specific dates to receive frozen food items and fresh, healthy produce!

If you need assistance or have additional questions, please reach out to Special Programs & Services at supportservices@barstow.edu or (760) 252-2411 ext. 6901. Together we can work to end food insecurity on our campus.
