Verification Options
Verify Your Identity In Person
Visit Admissions & Records during regular business hours with a valid government-issued photo ID. In most cases, your identity can be verified during your visit.
Verify Your Identity Online
If you cannot visit campus, you may complete the online identity verification process. Admissions & Records may require a brief Zoom appointment to verify your identity and review your documentation.

- Proof of your current address (such as a utility bill, lease agreement, bank statement, or vehicle registration)
- Access to a camera and internet connection if a Zoom appointment is required

Processing Time
Most identity verification requests are reviewed within 1–3 business days. Processing times may be longer during peak registration periods or if additional documentation is required. Students will be notified if additional information is needed.
Protect Yourself from Identity Theft
- Never share your MyBCC password with anyone.
- Regularly monitor your student account for unauthorized activity.
- Report suspicious emails requesting your personal information.
- Notify Admissions & Records immediately if you believe your identity has been compromised.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are you currently a K–12 student and under the age of 18?
If you are a high school or other K–12 student under the age of 18 and have an Identity Verification (ID) hold on your Barstow Community College account, do not complete the standard identity verification process above. Contact the Dual Enrollment Department for assistance.
The Dual Enrollment team will work with authorized personnel at your school to verify your identity and assist with clearing the hold.
What to Provide
When contacting Dual Enrollment, please provide:
- Your full name
- Your BCC College Admissions Confirmation Number
- The name of your high school or K–12 school
Providing this information will help the team locate your admissions application, identify the appropriate school contact, and complete the verification process as quickly as possible.

Why do I have to verify my identity?

No. Students are selected for identity verification for a variety of reasons. Being selected does not indicate that you have done anything wrong.

If an identity verification hold has been placed on your account, you must complete the verification process before you can register for classes or make changes to your schedule.
What if I can't come to campus?
Students who are unable to visit campus may complete the online verification process and, if required, participate in a brief Zoom appointment.
