Theater Arts (ADT)

This program offers academic and career preparation that provides students with the skills and knowledge needed to transfer to a four-year college or to establish a career as a studio artist—or to achieve both opportunities. In addition to preparing students to enter the professions or acquire jobs that require a bachelor’s degree or higher, the program offers courses of study that enhance the creativity of students who choose different careers.

Associate of Arts for Transfer, Theater Arts (ADT)

The Associate in Arts for Transfer Degree, Theatre Arts (ADT) focuses on the solid foundation of
fundamental skills learned through a variety of performance and technical theatre courses to help
students build confidence and emphasize the importance of responsibility, dedication, collaboration,
and commitment. It connects the study of script analysis and history to create complex characters and
theatrical designs. Students are encouraged to develop their artistic expression and technical ability in
preparation for their continuing education and future careers. A degree in Theatre Arts can lead to
careers in teaching, design, technical theatre, theatre management, professional performance, stage
direction, stage management, and related areas. Our hope is to challenge and channel students’
talents into having an equitable, local, and global impact as artists, technicians, educators, audience
members, and supporters of the arts
