The Youth Empowerment Support Services (YESS) program is designed to assist current and former foster youth in successfully completing college. Our program offers textbook and transportation assistance, priority registration, school supplies, counseling, basic needs assistance and more. We also have events and small groups that allow students to meet with others in the program and learn many great skills! The program is open to any student registered in 6 or more units who is current or former foster youth who can provide documentation of their status, regardless of age.
If you would like to apply for the YESS Program, please complete the Special Programs & Services Application and provide your documentation to supportservices@barstow.edu. If you do not have a foster youth documentation letter, you may contact the Foster Youth Ombudsman at (877) 846-1602 to obtain one.
