![]() I had been out of school for so long that I had to take the very basic of the basic skills classes… I came back to school after raising a family and it is much easier going to school when you are younger, believe me… I tell the younger students in my classes all the time, "Stay in school." I had been out of school for so long that I had to take the very basic of the basic skills classes. My confidence level was pretty low and I doubted my ability to even pass the beginning classes. I am happy to say that as I achieved more and more successes, my confidence became stronger and stronger. I not only passed the basic skills courses, but I went onto English 1A and 1C—the transfer level courses. To top it off, I even became the student member of the college's basic skills committee. One thing I have learned is never give up despite life's setbacks. I am proud that I persevered and I will be graduating from BCC in May, with two degrees; one in Humanities the other in Social Sciences. After that, it is on to my next challenge… Colleen SeifertBCC Student |
