![]() Is it the teacher that changes the student or the student that changes the teacher? In teaching Performing Arts at Barstow Community College, I have students of varying levels of ability and talent in my classes. This ultimate mix of students creates a challenge as you cannot expect all to achieve the same levels of success in theatre arts. As performance art exists in the moment, it forces students to become more open and expressive individuals. It opens their creativity and minds, teaches them to live in their imagination and breaks them out of their shells. In the end there is no one size fits all while teaching. It is not just pushing and honoring those whom have more potential but having everyone give their best possible performance for that individual. Amy Ross, MFAFaculty, Theatre Arts |
