BARSTOW – The Barstow Community College Foundation and Associated Student Body will host their Third Annual Festival of Lights & Learning for the community on Dec. 6. This free holiday celebration will feature craft booths, musical performances, a campus lighting ceremony, and free pictures with Santa Claus for all children.
The event will take place from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. At 6 p.m., the college will hold a special campus lighting ceremony to illuminate thousands of holiday lights reserved through donations to the Foundation’s student scholarship fund.
The first 300 children to visit Santa will receive a free souvenir.

Body will host a blood drive on Nov. 16 from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. in a Bloodmobile
operated by the Blood Bank of San Bernardino and Riverside Counties outside
the college’s Norman Smith Center. Anyone interested in donating blood is invited

BARSTOW – Barstow Community College is inviting local artisans and crafters to operate craft booths at its Third Annual Festival of Lights & Learning planned for Dec. 6 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The college plans to transform the plaza outside its new Learning Resource Center into a holiday village for this annual holiday and campus-lighting event, which raises money for student scholarships.
For a $10 donation to the Barstow Community College Foundation, crafters will receive an eight-foot table and three chairs. The registration deadline is Nov. 15.
Those interested in participating can register at the Barstow Community College Business Office, Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., or call Joann Garcia at (760) 252-2411, ext. 7374 for more information.
Each of the past two years, more than 300 people have attended this event, which features free pictures with Santa Claus, performances by local singers and musicians, and a campus lighting ceremony.

BARSTOW- The Barstow Community College Performing Arts Department will host a charity concert, ”A Cabaret Evening,” on Nov. 5 at 7 p.m. in the college’s soon-to-be theatre-in-the-round, or the college’s old library.
The concert will feature musical performances by two of the college’s employees, Amy Ross and Gaither Loewenstein. Amy will sing classic show tunes, and Gaither with sing classic rock ‘n roll songs along with some of his original works.
Tickets are $10 and can be bought at the door. All proceeds will be used to underwrite the college’s spring musical production, “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum.”
The event will begin with a mixer and light refreshments
at 7 p.m., and the concert will start at 7:30 p.m.
