BARSTOW – The Barstow Community College Performing Arts Department will perform the musical, “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum” the weekends of March 11 and March 18.
Described as Broadway’s greatest romp, “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum” is a fun, fast-paced, musical comedy written by Bruce Shevelove and Larry Gelbart of “MASH” fame.
“I like to describe this musical as Mel Brooks meets Three’s Company,” says Barstow Community College performing arts instructor, Amy Ross. “It’s witty, irreverent, and lots of fun.”
The college’s production is directed by Ross and choreographed by Christopher Moll. The set and lighting is designed by Ron Trotter.
Evening performances are scheduled for March 11, 12, 18 and 19 at 7:30 p.m., and matinees will be performed March 13 and 20 at 2 p.m.
General admission is $7, and local students pay a discounted price of $5. Tickets can be bought at the door.
All performances will be held in Barstow Community College’s Norman Smith Center located at 2700 Barstow Rd. in Barstow.
Due to adult situations and content, “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum” is most appropriate for children age 13 and older.
