Summer Outreach for High School Graduates

Barstow College Summer Outreach Peer Counselors will assist the local graduating students from Barstow High School, Silver Valley High School, Central High School and all adult evening high school graduates with enrollment process.

The Peer Counselors are available to assist you with the following:

• Barstow College Application
• Financial Aid Application
• Tuition Waivers
• Accuplacer Assessment
• Special Programs and Services
• Schedule to make an appointment with a Summer Outreach Academic Counselor

All outreach students will be given priority registration on July 21, 2004.

Please call the Student Life and Development office to make an appointment at 252-2411, ext. 7374.

Summer Outreach for All Other Students

All other students also qualify for assistance in signing up for Barstow College. Please follow the steps below to have the smoothest enrollment process.

Step 1: Go to the financial aid office located in the administration building to see if you qualify for financial aid. You may also qualify for E.O.P.S and/or C.A.R.E Services. If you do, the financial aid office will send you to the appropriate location to receive assistance with these programs. To see what services the E.O.P.S and/or C.A.R.E programs offer you, click the links above.

Step 2: Go to the admissions and records office located in the administration building to fill out your admissions application so you are placed in the system.

Step 3: Go to the the computer labs in the Business complex (B5) to take the Accuplacer test. The Accuplacer test will determine your math, reading and English skill levels, so you can choose appropriate classes to meet your goals.

Step 4: Go to admissions and records located in the administration building to see a counselor and sign up for your classes!

Remember the first day for new students to register in classes is July 27th, but you can complete all the other steps before this date and be all ready to register on July 276th. Beat the rush and start your enrollment process today!

Step 5: If you do not qualify for E.O.P.S. or C.A.R.E buy your books at the Viking Shop.

Step 6: Attend classes and complete your assignments.
