DAVIS RESIGNS FROM BARSTOW COMMUNITY COLLEGE BOARD OF TRUSTEES
Posted: February 15, 2005
BARSTOW – At the Feb. 10 meeting of the Barstow Community College Board of Trustees, Trustee Bryant Davis announced his resignation from the Board.
Davis will be leaving next year to pursue missionary service with his church. “I’ve decided to resign now so that my successor can develop a relationship with the remaining Trustees and our new college president, Clifford Brock, who is expected to arrive on March 1.”
Davis, who served on the Barstow Community College Board of Trustees for five and a half years struggled with his decision to resign. “I leave with heartfelt appreciation for everyone associated with the college,” he said. “It has been a privilege and a pleasure to serve the community at the college – this is our community college.”
Davis’ resignation becomes effective today. Now, the Board will carry out a succession plan as governed by the San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools. The Board of Trustees will have 60 days to fill the vacancy either by special election or provisional appointment.
Board of Trustee President Marcia Zableckis praised Davis for his service to the college. “Bryant and I were elected to this Board at the same time,” said Zableckis. “He is a good friend to me and a true champion of this college.”
Announcements regarding the college’s succession plan will be released in the coming days. # # #
