BARSTOW COMMUNITY COLLEGE TO HOST ORIENTATIONS
FOR NEW STUDENTS AND THEIR PARENTS

Barstow Community College will host orientations for new students and their parents in the college’s old library (soon-to-be Performing Arts Center). These orientations are designed to introduce new students, parents, and anyone thinking about attending the college to various services offered at Barstow Community College, including financial aid, free tutoring services, student activities, and transfer and career planning services. Attendees will also receive a tour of the campus and be entered to win vouchers from the campus bookstore and eatery.

The orientations are planned for Aug. 9 at 6 p.m., Aug. 10 at 10 a.m., and Aug. 13 at 9 a.m. Each orientation is scheduled to run for approximately two hours.

AUDITIONS FOR FALL THEATRE PRODUCTION

BARSTOW – Barstow Community College will hold auditions for its production of “The Uninvited” at 6 p.m., Aug. 22 and 23 in the college’s Norman Smith Center. Roles are available for adult men and women of varying ages. The auditions are open to the public.

“The Uninvited” is a play adapted from a 1944 film of the same name that starred Ray Milland and Ruth Hussey. It’s a gothic, romantic thriller that takes place at Cliff’s End, a beautiful, old home with a past.

Students selected for the play must enroll in the college’s drama production class. Those interested in helping behind-the-scenes with stage management, lights, sound, costume design and stage crew need not attend the auditions. Instead, contact Amy Ross at 252-2411, ext. 7243.

Performances of “The Uninvited” are planned for mid-October – just in time for Halloween.
