CSU Chico

Chico Distance & Online Education offers a variety of courses and degree programs via the Internet. While the courses are entirely Web-based, many of the courses also provide live, synchronous video streaming of course lectures. To participate in these classes you will need to be admitted to the university and have a computer and access to the Internet.

Indiana University

3+1 Program
The Indiana University School of Continuing Studies (SCS) has developed, with several out-of-state community colleges, an academic program called 3+1 (formerly 90 > 30). The community colleges and Indiana University (IU) have articulated their curricula so that students can earn both an associate degree at their community college and a bachelor's degree through distance education at Indiana University.

Under the program, students who have completed two years of study at their community college can continue their studies there for a third year, while selecting additional courses that apply toward an IU Bachelor of General Studies.

During their first phase of study, students complete the number of credits or units required for an associate degree at their community college.

During their second phase of study, students complete — at their community college and through distance education at Indiana University — the number of credits or units required for an IU Bachelor of General Studies.

Students select 90 semester hours/135 quarter units of lower-division (100- and 200-level) credit at their community college and 30 semester hours of upper-division (300- and 400-level) credit offered at a distance through the SCS Independent Study Program. Effective July 1, 2006, the fees for the Indiana University courses offered through distance education (online courses or print-based correspondence courses) are $138.65 per unit/semester hour of credit.

ASSIST is a computerized student-transfer information system that can be accessed over the World Wide Web. It displays reports of how course credits earned at one California college or university can be applied when transferred to another. ASSIST is the official repository of articulation for California’s colleges and universities and therefore provides the most accurate and up-to-date information available about student transfer in California.

The ASSIST acronym stands for Articulation System Stimulating Interinstitutional Student Transfer.

AICCU

The Association of Independent California Colleges and Universities (AICCU) serves as the unified statewide voice of independent higher education in California. The association represents 77 private colleges and universities on policy issues with the state and federal government.
