Information About the Program
A student of the Performing Arts program at Barstow College will be able to demonstrate an appreciation for the arts, an ability to create art through dance, music, or theatre, and evaluate the importance of the arts historically, socially, and culturally.
The Performing Arts program at Barstow College is a growing one. We currently offer theatre and music courses. As we grow, we will be adding dance and additional technical theatre, instrumental and vocal classes.
Barstow College takes the advancement of arts in our community very seriously and we are proud of the commitment in which we serve, teach, and entertain.

With her father in the service overseas and her mother passed away, Veruca is sent to live with her aunt and cousins in the small Louisiana bayou swamp town of Bonne Vie. She hopes she’s finally found a place to call home, and meeting Eryck, a sweet but geeky teenager who’s never been out of Bonne Vie, certainly helps. Yet despite its welcoming nature, there’s something eerie about this remote town hidden amongst the shadowy cypress trees.
