Students are welcome to drop in the Tutorial Lab during our open hours. We have tutors available for math and English during all our open hours. Tutors for specialized subjects, i.e., sciences, are available at specific times. Please click "Meet Our Tutors" for specific times for specialized subjects.
While we usually have tutors available for all subjects offered at Barstow Community College, tutors for some specialized subjects are not always available every semester. If you do not see the subject listed that you need tutoring for, please contact the Tutorial Services Specialist and we will attempt to find one for you.
Walk-in tutoring is based on tutor availability. If you want to avoid waiting for a tutor to become available, or ensure that you will be able to see a tutor before your assignment is due, please contact us to make an appointment. During our busy times, you may want to schedule your appointment one day ahead of time.
TUTORING BY APPOINTMENT
SCHEDULING AN APPOINTMENT
Students are welcome to drop in for tutoring, however, making an appointment will help you avoid waiting for a tutor to become available. Please drop by the lab to schedule an appointment, call the Tutorial Services Specialist at (760) 252-2411 x7261, or click the Make An Appointment link.
Standard appointments are scheduled in half-hour or one-hour increments. If you need more time, please see the Tutorial Services Specialist for tutor availability.
Be on time for your appointment. If you are more than 5 minutes late, your appointment could be given to the next student waiting in line and you will have to reschedule.
Please cancel your appointment if you can't make it. If you miss 2 appointments without cancelling (basically a "no-show"), you may be limited to using walk-in services.
