The temporary, full-time, non-tenure track college instructor will be directly responsible to the Vice President of Academic Affairs and/or their designee.
A. General Scope of Responsibilities
- Practice excellence in teaching and instruction.
- Demonstrate evidence of professional growth and academic currency.
- Carry out the responsibilities specific to his/her area, department and/or program.
- Contribute to the College Community by participation in service activities.
- Contribute to the local community by participation in service activities.
B. Teaching and Instruction
1. Begin class on time in an orderly, organized fashion.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
For the Reading Instructor:
Master’s degree in education with a specialization in reading or teaching reading OR bachelor’s degree in any academic discipline AND 12 semester units of course work in teaching reading AND master’s degree in English, literature, linguistics, applied linguistics, composition, comparative literature, TESL, or psychology OR the equivalent.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
$45,106 - $80,406
Initial placement on the Certificated Salary Schedule will be commensurate with education and experience not to exceed Step 12, Column V ($80,406). This is a temporary, full-time, non-tenure track position for the spring 2013 semester.
