Applications for Part-Time Instructors are always being accepted for assignments at the Barstow campus as well as teaching on-line and at the off-campus site located at Fort Irwin. Assignments are at the discretion of the District.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS : ACADEMIC COURSES - Possession of a Master’s degree from an accredited institution in the appropriate discipline, or the equivalent.
VOCATIONAL COURSES: Possession of a Bachelor's degree and 2 years experience in the field OR an Associate's degree and 6 years experience in the field.
EQUIVALENCY: If you possess a Bachelor's degree and have experience in the field, you may apply for Equivalency by requesting an Equivalency Form from the Human Resources Office. The Academic Senate at Barstow College will determine Requests of Equivalency in accordance with the minimum qualifications set forth by the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office.
Demonstrated proficiency in teaching at the community college level.
SALARY AND BENEFITS
The hourly rate for part-time faculty is $42, $44 and $46. Placement
on the salary schedule is commensurate with academic preparation and experience
at the community college level.
Classroom conditions; standing for long periods of time, reaching overhead
and above the waist to write on blackboards, speaking and hearing to lecture
and communicate with students, seeing to observe students at work.
