  • Scholarships offered by four-year universities and other private or community organizations may have different deadlines and award dates. Please read each description for specific information.
  • Local scholarships will be awarded at Barstow College's annual Honors Day. If you receive a scholarship, you will receive notification prior to Honors Day. If you do not receive a scholarship, you will not receive a notification letter.

Helpful Hints
  • A local scholarship application is included in the printed scholarship booklet. Please reproduce it, or pick up extra applications from Student Services. Click here to download an application packet
  • A local recommendation form is available in the printed scholarship booklet.. Please reproduce it or pick up extra applications from Student Services. Click here to download a recommendation form. (Adobe Acrobat Reader required. Click here to download).
  • Type into the application and print if possible. Typewriters are available in the Tutorial Center for your use if you cannot type directly into the form.
  • If handwriting, print using black ink only.
  • If typing your essay, be sure the type is large enough to be easily read. Example: A 11-point font is this size.
  • If a special application is noted in the handbook for a scholarship, use it!
  • If requesting an application from a non-local scholarship, be sure to include a self-addressed and stamped envelope.
  • Remember, neatness counts!
