Ability to Benefit

According to Department of Education federal regulations all financial aid students must have a high school diploma/GED or pass an Ability to Benefit test.

  • ATB will test your reading comprehension, sentence skills and arithmetic.
  • If you need to take the ATB, please go to Learning Resource Center.
    • Bring a photo ID
    • Know your Social Security Number
    • There is no time limit, but please allow 2 hours for completion

GED

Barstow College DOES NOT give GED tests and DOES NOT have a GED test preparation class. However, we strongly encourage our students to earn their GED.

  • Barstow Adult School offers FREE GED test preparation classes
    • Barstow Adult School is open Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday only!
      • Hours for registration are 3:30-8:30pm.
