San Bernardino County Code requires that all food service workers employed in San Bernardino County possess a valid, unexpired Food Service Worker Certification Card.  This card must be issued by a County-Approved Training Institution.  A person shall be eligible for a Food Worker Certificate after paying a fee and successfully passing the training course and proficiency examination.  All food service workers MUST obtain certification within fourteen (14) days from employment.

County Code defines a food service worker as “…any person engaged or employed in any activity or facility subject to this chapter where in any portion of their person, clothing, or body discharge could come in contact with exposed food or food contact surfaces…”

The training course shall be at least two (2) hours in length and shall include the study of the contamination of food, microorganisms, sources of food borne diseases, microorganisms or toxic substance contamination, food protection methods to prevent food borne illness, time and temperature criteria for preventing food borne illnesses, food workers personal hygiene, disease transmission by utensils or equipment, and multi-use utensil washing and sanitizing procedures.

Special arrangements are available for on-site classes (at your place of business) for a minimum of 20 people!

CLASS ROOM SIZE IS LIMITED
AND IS ON A FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE BASIS.  ANY ADDITIONAL STUDENTS WILL BE REFERRED TO THE NEXT SCHEDULED CLASS.

Payment for the class will be CASH or MONEY ORDERS only.
