Women's Basketball, Barstow College

This is my 4th year at Barstow College and 8th at the community college level. At Victor Valley College I was an assistant coach for 4 years. Two of these teams made the state playoffs, won one playoff game and finished well in conference play.

Coach Woods and I have been together the past 3 years, and while under the Head Coach of Kim Ensing have compiled a 43-44 record, with a near miss to the state playoffs, and a 3rd place finish in conference.

Assistant Coach: Danah Smith

A superstar basketball player out of Las Vegas, NV, by way of Cheyenne High School. Earned a chance to play for Barstow Community College where she was a key player in turning the program around. During the 2006 season, Danah helped her team to the best season in the history of Barstow Community College Women's Basketball, earning an All-Conference Team spot and was named Most Valuable Defender. Smith graduated from Barstow with an AA degree in '06. Taking her career to the next level by accepting a scholarship to attend the nationally renowned powerhouse Cal Poly Pomona. While at Pomona Smith's career was troubled by injury. Despite the hardships of athletics, Smith graduated with a B.S degree in Kinesiology in June 2011. Smith has returned to where it all started as an assistant coach for the Vikings. Her duties include player development as well as guard play. Coach Woods says, "Danah brings a lot to our program. She is the epitome of the perfect student-athlete."
